We took the opportunity to visit the Green Community a few days ago, as part of the Video Neighborhood mapping project that is slowly filling up on Realvisionhomes.com. Click to see Video neighborhood Map of Dubai Projects
The video neighborhood section will aim to provide as complete an overview as possible using video, a tour of completed projects in Dubai and the UAE. This is of immense importance right now, as we see growing overseas investor and home buyer interest in owning property and living in the UAE.
After seeing the pictures on the Green Community website, which makes it hard to believe that such a project exists and has been lived in for more than a few years, it made sense to look into this neighborhood first hand.
The Residents of the Green Community either don’t know how good this gem of a property they are living in is, or they are smart enough to keep it a secret. Read the rest of this entry »

Home Staging, as it’s called in the US, or Home Doctoring if you are in the UK, is a long established practice when preparing a house for sale. Traditionally, it is almost always a lived in home or property that is ’staged’ in preparation for a sale or open house viewing day.
The reason a home is staged is to make it look fresh and inviting to interested people who come in for a viewing.
In many real estate markets worldwide, a real estate agent or consultant will always advice you to either stage a home yourself, or seek the services of proper home staging firms.
Yes, such a service may not be that familiar with residents and even real estate agents here in the UAE, and why should it be? There are hardly any homes that are lived-in for that long, that they need to be staged to sell them.
In fact, it is radically different here. Properties and homes still have that fresh brick and paint smell whenever there is an open house. If indeed there even is such a thing as an open house!
With most properties being bought out within a few hours of their launch announcements, it still is a virgin market for real estate here. Read the rest of this entry »

We have to start off by saying that this is not a paid review!. The reason this topic is featured is because it really is a breath of fresh air for clients and home buyers who have taken it in their stride that not all project developers will keep them informed and updated.
You can imagine our pleasant surprise when we got that first SMS from Al Attar Properties announcing that new photo updates had been loaded up on their website for projects that clients had invested in.
We have to admit that we are not used to being treated this good, in what has otherwise become a take - it - or - leave - it attitude from some other developers here.
The property and real estate boom rightly justifies it supposedly… that developers have no time to take care of clients once that initial booking and downpayment has been made - or - should it really be justified?
As the real estate market matures, and the competition heats up to woo investors and more importantly ‘home owners’, we are glad to see a developer such as Al Attar taking such a pro-active initiative in leading the way.
This is not to say that other developers aren’t doing as much. To be fair, we have seen update magazines, mailings and photos being sent out by developers, but what really hopefull is the start of a new trend will be the way that Al Attar Properties is doing it. Read the rest of this entry »

The Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI) for real estate studies, is to our knowledge the first such institute in the region.
DREI has announced its portfolio of executive training programmes for the first half of 2008. This was reported in Gulf News today.
The programmes are offered in partnership with prestigious universities specialized in various advanced real estate fields.
The DREI is helping fill the void that was present in the real estate industry in this region. We finally have an organization and resource center for real estate professionals and new agents looking to start off their career in real estate.
It should be worth noting that besides certification, which is definitely needed to keep this industry functioning professionally, new students and agents will have the benefit of the resource center at the DREI.
Access to this knowledge base will go a long way in shaping the outlook of Real Estate agents working in the market and would amongst other things introduce methodology and best practices as is seen in more mature markets world wide.
Undertaking at least one of the various courses such as the Diploma and Executive education programs on offer at the DREI is highly recommended and indeed much needed.
