Following up on our previous post to the home flipping quiz, It inspired us enough to do some more searching for a tool or product that would help train real estate agents in the UAE, for the next inevitable phase or trend in Real Estate here.

As mentioned, We have a strong inclination to believe that as with everything shiny and luxurious that is Dubai, the trend with people’s choice of housing - at least the ones with eccentric lifestyle tastes, will soon mean that you will see people moving out from some of their older homes (constructed just 5 years ago) to villas and apartments with more ‘bling’.

Nakheel’s fabulous Palm Jumeirah waterfront villas or the next generation locales of Business Bay and hi tech buildings like Omniyat Properties’ THE PAD are just too tempting when you are bored with your current habitat!

How can the smart Real Estate Agent or clever Home Investor benefit from this trend?
By actually buying these ‘old’ houses, and Fixing them up, to sell back into the market at a profit…

Just as you can turn a regular automobile into a work of art that can be resold at a higher price, being on the look out for a home or villa that is lacking in style, or comfort, and fixing it up can make it into a unique sought after residence.

Take a villa, from developments such as Emaar’s Springs or Meadows in Dubai, add a flair of ancient Middle Eastern architecture, such as the aesthetically pleasing and fully functional Wind Towers, and as a Real Estate agent or Investor, you will have created something unique, and make a decent profit!
So even if the houses, villas, and apartments in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the region are not of the ‘ fix it and flip it’ variety, there is a market need for something unique at least here in Dubai!
